PipScore — Privacy Policy

Effective date: 2026-07-02

PipScore is a card-game score helper. It is built to be private by default: it works entirely on your phone, has no internet access, and does not save or transmit your photos.

The short version

Camera and photos

PipScore never operates the camera itself — when you tap Take Photo, it asks your phone's own camera app to take the picture and hand it back. Because of this, PipScore does not request the camera permission (or any other permission).

When you tap Take Photo:

  1. The photo is captured into PipScore's private, app-only storage (it is not placed in your photo gallery by PipScore).
  2. PipScore analyzes the image on your device to identify the cards and add up the score. This happens entirely on the phone — no part of the photo is sent off the device.
  3. The photo is deleted as soon as the analysis finishes.

PipScore keeps a short on-device history of your recent scores (the cards read and the totals) so you can glance back at previous hands. This history contains no photos, is stored only on your device, and is never transmitted.

One thing outside our control: depending on your phone, the camera app you use to take the picture may keep its own copy of the photo in your gallery, according to that app's settings. That copy belongs to your camera app, not to PipScore. PipScore itself never saves your photos.

Permissions

PipScore requests no permissions at all — not even the camera permission (your phone's own camera app takes the photo, so PipScore never needs direct camera access). No internet, no storage, no location, no contacts.

Data sharing

PipScore shares no data with anyone, because it collects no data and has no network access.

Children's privacy

PipScore is a general-audience utility and is not directed at children under 13. It collects no personal information from anyone.
